It was a romantic revival this month for July Fashion, with inspiration coming from the "beautiful age" of Belle Epoque which was the name given in France for the period of history which went from roughly 1871 to the start of world war one (1914).
It themed in well with this months up-cycling issue and got creative juices flowing. Hair Stylist Lauren Lewis crafted a high fashion dramatic hair feature in model Michelle's hair, while makeup Artist Indie Welsh applied dark burgundy lips which added to the drama.
We shot at the stunning Nelson Castle - Warwick House, which completed the theme. Hope you enjoy the spread as much as we did creating it!
With special thanks to the Advertisers and team:

I recently met inspiring writer, and mentor Vienda Maria who I had the pleasure of photographing on a beautiful sunny Saturday afternoon in Nelson.
A little about Vienda as spoken from her heart...
"I teach women who want to do great things in the world, how to choose freedom in life and work. This isn’t about the fantasy — it’s about the beauty in the freedom to design our own reality.
We all have a story to tell. But instead of getting wrapped up in the story, what is truly breath-taking and inspiring is what we do as a result of our story. My story led me to have a profound fascination with freedom.
Growing up, all I ever wanted was freedom. Freedom to be, say, think, do, feel and choose. And so I spent my entire adult life dedicated to creating a life of freedom.
And as I have looked for freedom in my work, in my lifestyle, in my relationships, in myself, I have discovered one vital thing.
Freedom, true freedom, comes from within."
- Vienda Maria - as quoted from her 'About' page at her site
We started our shoot inside and then headed out side for the sunset, I was on a natural high photographing Vienda - her free spirit is contagious!

On Anzac Day I had the pleasure to collaborate with Canadian model Julien Peron, a real professional who is dedicated to getting the perfect shot - baring the freezing cold late April sea at sunset. He and his partner Vienda, a writer are on a working holiday in New Zealand and have been lucky enough to capture them both here is my shoot with Julien.

Alex is from Germany, he is a vegetarian who practices yoga and running. He is enjoying a working holiday in Nelson and has been staying in a large quirky old house along with seven other travelers since January. He was the first of three of the flatmates I was lucky to capture with my camera last week. Nothing excites me more than photographing new people and old houses - here two of my favorite things combined and I think you will agree, Alex is quite smoldering!
'Autumn fashion is under the spotlight in our gorgeous James Bond-inspired fashion spread featuring models Shannon Cassidy and Reggie Elliot-Jones' Admire
This has got to be one of my favourite shoots yet, I'm so proud of how it all turned out. The team was amazing and it all worked together like magic.
Fashion Stylist: Sonya Leusink Sladen, Models: Shannon Cassidy and Reggie Elliot-Jones of RPD Models, Hair: Connie Flemming of Cardells, Makeup: Indie Welsh of Prices Pharmacy.
Special thanks to the team at Nelson's Rutherford Hotel for our inspiring shoot location.
My new Canon EOS 5D Mark III and 50mm 1.4 prime lens and I had a date at The Glen, Nelson on Valentines Day to capture the water, rocks and sunset. It was so beautiful, except when I was knee deep in the water with my tripod and camera and slipped on slimy rocks and nearly smashed everything, lucky save thanks to my left leg which is bruised and scratched up, the risks we take for that shot!
On Sunday I took my new canon 135mm F2 lens out to a family pot luck dinner in Richmond to have a play. The kiddies and aunties loved posing for the camera and we all had a good laugh. Its just magic when I get a gorgeous sunset, a lovely location and eager models!
Welcome back and into 2016, this months Admire fashion focus on a return to work with sophisticated, yet comfortable styles.

Five days before Christmas and at just under two weeks old I had the privilege of photographing baby Evie. She was a delight to capture her hair is utterly adorable and she has the most perfect soft baby skin.
I would like to thank her mum Aimee and Nana for the awesome fun and help on the day.
On Saturday the 28th November 2015 I was privileged to shoot the wedding of Emma and Anton. In the months leading up to the big day the bride and I met up and talked about pose ideas, the plans and how the day would flow. We watched the weather reports like crazy and although the wind was blowing a gale the weather was beautiful.
The day started for me at the mother of the brides home where I captured the brides maids and then the beautiful bride get hair and makeup done. Even the wee flower girls got a splash of lip gloss and blusher.
I headed out to the wedding venue to see a relaxed Groom and his party eagerly awaiting the bride who turned up in style, I just loved the blue car! Family and friends watched while the happy couple said their vows and became Mr and Mrs.. while the wind blew.
The bridal party and I went to Isel Park to take some portraits which the wind kindly paused for followed by reception back at the venue.
What touched me about this wedding was the amount of love for friends, family and absent loved ones, all of whom were remembered. What a relaxed and beautiful wedding, where everyone was included and everything was planned for such smooth running.
Stylist Sonya Leusink-Sladen and I have had a lot of fun re-vamping the product pages for Admire Magazine. We decided to create beautiful still life pages with them, rather than clear white cut outs of objects on pages. This we believe is more meaningful for us and the readers, creating high quality imagery which sells quality products. We are both very proud of what we have achieved together creating what I call works of art in their own right on the pages. I hope you enjoy them too, Nelson and Richmond have a lot of quality locally sourced and produced, as well as internationally hand picked products. We are very lucky to live in not only a little slice of paradise but also have our cake and eat it too!

During my studies I have learnt some graphic design which comes in handy when creating my own marketing templates. I was able to build this website myself using Square Space templates and have now spent the day updating my business cards to match my marketing set.
I am pleased with the final design, which I will take to the printers. It is double sided and will be printed on either gloss or matte cards I have yet to decide that.
