Emma & Anton's Wedding

On Saturday the 28th November 2015 I was privileged to shoot the wedding of Emma and Anton. In the months leading up to the big day the bride and I met up and talked about pose ideas, the plans and how the day would flow. We watched the weather reports like crazy and although the wind was blowing a gale the weather was beautiful.

The day started for me at the mother of the brides home where I captured the brides maids and then the beautiful bride get hair and makeup done. Even the wee flower girls got a splash of lip gloss and blusher.

I headed out to the wedding venue to see a relaxed Groom and his party eagerly awaiting the bride who turned up in style, I just loved the blue car! Family and friends watched while the happy couple said their vows and became Mr and Mrs.. while the wind blew.

The bridal party and I went to Isel Park to take some portraits which the wind kindly paused for followed by reception back at the venue.

What touched me about this wedding was the amount of love for friends, family and absent loved ones, all of whom were remembered. What a relaxed and beautiful wedding, where everyone was included and everything was planned for such smooth running.

Hampden Street School's 2015 Twilight Gala

Renovations didn't stop Hampden Street School from putted on a huge evening at their annual Twilight Gala. Rachel Reese the Mayor of Nelson was there to officially open the festivities, all in aim of fundraising for the wonderful school.

There was face paint, nail art, Lazer tag, bouncy castles, lil train rides, and old fashion 'smash a plate' games. Kids enjoyed buying Jolly bags, and venturing into the famous Haunted House (for over 8yr olds)

So many people helped out to support the school with parents and teachers, grandparents and friends all getting involved. Z service station was along serving hot Nachos, and Butter Chicken rice.

I enjoyed a plate of Nachos, some yummy carrot cake and cream and old fashion lemonade. Here is a glimpse at the atmosphere on Friday night.

Family Fun Event - Victory Park Tuesday Nov 17th

On Tuesday I captured some of the fun at a great community event... the 'Family Fun Event' at Victory Park.

This was a violence free 'Its not Ok, its ok to ask for help' event. Supported by 'Keep Victory Safe', 'SVS' Living Safe, 'Its Okay to ask for help', Nelson Ark, Caco the Mako Mascot, The Truck, Victory Boxing, Koha Shed,
Local growers  supplied free fresh produce,  The Koha shed was there with lots of clothes, books and house hold items for free to help those in need. The Nelson ARK did great dog demonstrations which were enjoyed by all.

Families enjoyed free cookies and sausages under the Nelson sun, there were plenty of activities for the children, music and games. What a wonderful community I'm proud to call home!

Extra Special thanks to the organisers and all involved.
